Addiction And Recovery Forum Held In Montgomery, PA
On October 3rd at 6p.m. the local Drug Addiction Resource Alliance (DARA) will be holding an educational forum to inform the local public on topics surrounding addiction.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the event at the Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center, 1030 Horsham Road in Montgomery Township.
They will talk about the 25+ local organizations who are there to help recovering addicts.
The event will also be giving out 50 free Narcan doses as well along with proper instruction for administering it. This has been offered courtesy of Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission. They expect that people interested in this will register simply by emailing MDefrene@montcopa.org
“Groups and agencies taking part include NAR-ANON, Summit Behavioral Health, Renew Family Services, Malvern Institute, Eagleville Hospital, Gaudenzia, Montgomery County Community Connections, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, Montgomery County Drug and Alcohol Office, the Horsham Clinic, Valley Forge Medical Center, Hope’s Therapeutic Services, NHS Human Services, the Penn Foundation, the Lamb Foundation, Livengrin Foundation, Sobriety Solutions, Steps to Sobriety, Aldersgate, Keystone Center, Rehab After Work/School, Fairmount Behavioral Health System, the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office, and the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania/Pro-Act.”
The event presentations will begin at 7p.m. by the participating organizations. People in the recovery community will be speaking for the guests at the forum.
DARA was created by community members like teachers, parents, Judge Andrea Duffy, as well as other community officials and volunteers. It is a coalition of locals in the recovery community who have come together to take action on spreading more awareness and education on the subject for their citizens to use to their advantage. These efforts are used to save lives.
