Salon Caters to Those in Recovery
The drug epidemic in Florida is at an all-time high, but Serenity Styles owner Don Prince and his staff hope to cut off a past of addiction. According to WPTV.com, Don Prince spent nearly three decades drinking heavily before he found recovery. He said, “I lost 30 years of my life on and off-and I am not going to lose another, neither are they.”
After six months of sobriety, Prince started a business promoting sobriety through beauty. He said, “Having that confidence on the outside has an influence on how you feel on the inside.” Prince caters to those getting help for addiction. He hires recovering addicts and alcoholics. He says the concept is simple: feel better and do better.
One woman says taking down her long, golden locks to a sassy short bob is the beginning of a new woman. ”It’s a new me. In a way, I feel like I am being reborn in my recovery,” she said.
