An Abbotsford man who made a “miraculous” recovery after being placed in a medically induced coma after taking ecstasy speaks out.  According to, the 24-year-old took the drug at home and quickly realized something was wrong.  He believed the situation was life threatening, so he told his parents and they rushed him to the hospital.  He was only at the hospital a short time before collapsing.

After three days in a coma, he began to show signs of improvement.  After he was released from the hospital his parents gave credit for his life to the attention given to tainted ecstasy in the media, circulating stories of deaths as a result of this tainted ecstasy.  A police constable in the area claims that the young man heard stories in the media, even discussing them with his friends numerous times.  He said, “It wasn’t enough to stop him from taking the ecstasy on this night but it was enough, after taking it, to alert his parents and ask to be taken to the hospital.”
