Nebraska Police Investigate the Death of a 12-Year-Old Girl

Police in Lincoln, Nebraska are investigating the death of a 12-year-old girl they found unresponsive at a local residence. According to NebraskaRadioNetwork.com, emergency responders found Serena Garrett on the floor hallway of the home.

Lincoln Police Chief said, “We have been told that the 12-year-old victim did take some pills during the night.”Police discovered large amounts of prescription drugs in the home, including methadone, oxycodone, and morphine. Police have yet to determine who the drugs belonged to and what they were used for.

The owners of the home were gone when the incident occurred. There were five children and youth there, ranging from ages 12-19. A 13-year-old friend had invited Serena Garrett over to help babysit, and when she found Serena unconscious, she called 911.
