Man on Bath Salts Killed By Police

Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed by police this weekend, after firing a weapon at law enforcement.   According to NewsAndSentinel.com , Saturday night, police responded to a call about an individual who was high on bath salts and who was armed.  Officers arrived on the scene, where the standoff lasted all evening.

Wood County Sheriff, Jeff Sandy, said, “During the process of negotiations, we were trying to get the individual to depart the residence without any firearms.”   The man disobeyed the police order, and came out of the residence with a firearm and began firing at Wood County Police when deputies returned fire.  The incident is still under investigation, and no officers were injured.
