Aunt Charged After Bath Salts Found

A Fort Wayne infant became ill after being in a car with people smoking bath salts. According to The Journal Gazette , police officers responded to a call of a “person down” at a local Wendy’s.

Police found the sister of the “person down,” holding the infant. After she left the bathroom, officers found 2 packets of bath salts behind a trash can. The woman let officers search her vehicle, where they found 6 more packets of bath salts and drug paraphernalia. Officers determined the “person down” was smoking bath salts in the vehicle until she became ill, vomiting and partly conscious.

The infant was also exposed to the bath salts, and he was lethargic and vomiting. He received medical treatment. The aunt was charged with maintaing a common nuisance, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
