A federal drug-trafficking investigation led to six arrests in Chicago, as well as the confiscation of heroin, money, weapons, and a Green Bay packers Super Bowl ring reported stolen from one of the team's executives.
According to NJ.com, authorities claim the accused are directly tied to a drug organization in Mexico. It is unclear how the Super Bowl ring fell into the hands of these drug traffickers. Authorities seized 44 pounds of heroin, about $1.4 million in cash, and 18 weapons.
The defendants remain in federal custody, facing charges of conspiracy to knowingly possess with intent to distribute heroin. The charge carries a mandatory minimum of ten years.
