Newcastle Police Warn of a Potent "Pink" Heroin

Northumbria Police, in Newcastle, claim to have received information of a variety of heroin that turns a pinkish color when heated is very strong and consider very dangerous. According to, detectives believe this drug is circulating the Newcastle area, and urges people to contact them if they have any information regarding this substance.

Chief Inspector Peter Bent said, "This drug is potentially very dangerous and I would urge anyone who is offered any or has information about where it is being used or sold to contact police as soon as possible. We continue to work hard to target and arrest users and suppliers of drugs to the city to reduce the harm caused by such substances, and we work closely with our partners to ensure the appropriate drug support is available."
