Police in Bunnell, Florida recently made an “odd” arrest.

They located a man, identified as twenty-nine year old Charles Larkin Cowart, intoxicated, riding a horse in Bunnell, Florida. Details of the make and model of the horse have yet to be released.

Police received a call concerning a drunken male who had apparently been riding a horse. When police responded to the call, Cowart initially refused to dismount, or get off the steed.

According to police, Cowart responded to the police’s request by rearing the horse back and proceeding to ride off.

Subsequently, police pursued Cowart. Although, they did not turn on their sirens, as they did not want to startle the horse.

Police followed Cowart for approximately a half hour because the horse became too exhausted to continue. Cowart then dismounted and attempted to run. However, after a short chase Cowart found himself in police custody.

According to police, the steed was returned to his owner, unharmed.

Cowart was charged with resisting arrest and cruelty to animals.
