Justin Bieber turns 21- Will drunken antics become more prevalent

on Monday, 16 March 2015. Posted in Breaking News

The Canadian born popstar who has been in trouble with the law for drinking and drug use recently celebrated his 21st birthday by renting out a private island to hold a massive birthday celebration.

Bieber reportedly spent thousands of dollars on alcohol for partygoers and footage released on social media channels show the singer dancing and opening bottles of champagne while guests look on. Now that the star is of legal drinking age, fans and critics are wondering if Bieber will be involved in more drunken antics.

Those of us who follow celebrity antics still remember when Bieber was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and driving without a license back in January of 2014. The singer caught the attention of Miami Beach law enforcement in the early morning hours of January 23rd by street racing in a quiet neighborhood.

Onlookers said the pop star was driving a yellow Lamborghini and racing at high speeds against a red Ferrari driven by recording artist Khalil Sharieff. The cars were traveling at speeds of 60 mph in a 30 mph residential zone.

The officer who pulled over Bieber said the 19 year old was belligerent and not cooperating with his instructions. Bieber used foul language and repeatedly ignored the officer's requests to keep his hands on the hood of the car while being searched.

At that time the officer noted the smell of alcohol on Bieber's breath and administered a sobriety test, which he failed. The singer was then arrested along with the driver of the other vehicle. Bieber admitted to officers that had been drinking, as well as using marijuana and prescription drugs.

After spending some time in a Miami jail, Bieber was released on bail. The singer also made a $50,000 donation to a youth charity as a show of support.

The January 2014 incident was the first time that the young singer has been arrested. Bieber is also under investigation for a few other incidences however, a couple of which involve neighbors in the exclusive Calabasas, Ca community he calls home. One of the incidents involves allegations of the singer egging a neighbor's home, causing almost $20,000 in damage.

Authorities seized Bieber's phone and footage from his security cameras as part of the investigation that also included a search of his mansion. There have also been reports made by neighbors of Bieber racing his car at dangerous speeds through the streets of the exclusive community. One neighbor also says that Bieber spit in their face during a heated confrontation.

There are also numerous noise complaints about parties held at the singer's home that drew the attention of local law enforcement. In 2012, a photographer accused Bieber of attacking him in a Calabasas parking lot after he snapped a picture of the singer and his girlfriend. Prosecutors rejected that complaint.

Bieber's troubles with the law have simmered down over the last. The singer has even been spotted hanging out with a well known Christian pastor at sporting events and retreat centers. Pastor Carl Lenz of the popular Hillsong Church is said to be providing spiritual counsel to the young pop star.

Last Fall Bieber was believed to be on a "spiritual cleanse" that involved him reconnecting with his Christian faith through prayer, sobriety, and even baptism. However the latest footage of the star at his 21st birthday celebration show that alcohol has once again entered the singer's life. It remains to be seen if Bieber returns to his antics.
