The Home Alone franchise made him famous. And from the looks of new photos of him that are emerging, heroin is killing him.

The one-time super famous Hollywood child star is alleged to be close to death due to his dependence on the illegal and illicit substance heroin.

Reports first surfaced that Macaulay Culkin had a drug problem when the National Inquirer allegedly discovered and then subsequently divulged that the child star was not only practically a recluse but also suffering from an addiction to heroin.

Following his retirement from acting Culkin has experienced quite a few setbacks and tragedies, including a failed marriage to Rachel Miner as well as the end of an eight year relationship with Mila Kunis, who is now coupled with Ashton Kutcher.

In 2008, 31 year old Culkin tragically lost his sister after she was killed in a car collision.

Culkin is no stranger to either illicit or prescription substances.

In fact, the one-time box office favorite was arrested September 17, 2004 while in Oklahoma, when police officers discovered that he had Aprazalam, marijuana and Clonazepam, without a prescription of course.

After being transported to jail and booked, he was quickly set free on four thousands bail. He received a one year suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty.

A good friend of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, Culkin testified on Jackson’s behalf before later attending the singer’s burial on September 3, 2009.

Culkin testified that although he did sleep in Jackson’s bedroom on many occasions, he was never molested by Jackson.

Moreover, with regard to Culkin’s alleged heroin addiction, Culkin’s camp has vehemently denied the allegations.

The National Enquirer stands behind their report, even subsequently releasing an additional article on the child star as of August 13.
