Earlier this month, local police responded to a call involving a domestic assault. When they arrived, a woman began to describe a disturbing incident that had occurred between her and her son.

Upon arriving home, the mother found her 35 year old son in a bedroom of the house despite being kicked out just two days earlier. When she began to question her son about why he was there, he began demanding money to go buy drugs.

According to the report, the mother admitted that her son had been struggling with heroin addiction for some time.

After the mother refused to give her son any money, he became more enraged. He proceeded to “grab her by the throat and dragged her into the bedroom where he told her to find money,” stated the report. After the struggle, she told him there was money in her vehicle. The son then grabbed the keys, got in the car, and took off.

Police spotted the car a couple of days late in a parking lot. When they approached the vehicle, the man was sitting in the driver’s seat with a hypodermic needle next to him.

The son was arrested and is now facing multiple charges for theft and drug possession.

With such a strong addiction, this man turned against his own mother to support his habit. Heroin had become his family. Too often we see addiction come between families and most of the time, the addict doesn’t even realize how much pain their loved ones are going through.
