Four young Pennsylvania men have been arrested for possessing a variety of drugs after being stopped by police for speeding.
Washington Township police made a stop on a vehicle Sunday night for speeding. When Officer Cory Lee approached the vehicle and began speaking with the driver, 19 year old Ryan Nugent, he noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. A search revealed that Nugent did in fact have marijuana on him, along with drug paraphernalia, and methadone.
One of the passengers in the vehicle, 22 year old Matthew Gantkowski, was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lee went on to search the other two passengers, both 17 years old. One had L.S.D. and the other had additional drug paraphernalia. All four men were arrested and taken to police headquarters where they each faced various drug charges.
What may be the most disturbing about the story is the age of all involved. With more and more young people being introduced to drugs at a young age, more help is needed to make sure they get on the right track before it’s too late. Too often, early drug use leads to a lifetime of addiction, and without intervention things tend to get progressively worse.
