She emerged from wholesome beginnings in Hacienda Heights, California. And despite being raised in an ideal home with two loving parents, crystal meth addiction held her captive for many years.
Meanwhile, clearly talented, she found the time to hone her talent for singing, writing and theatrics. As well, she auditioned for girl bands, and after finding no success with many, she kept pounding the pavement, eventually joining the incredibly successful Black Eyed Peas…….you all know, the rest is ancient history!
Since becoming a Black Eyed Pea, Fergie has become a hugely successful solo singer in her own right, a household name, having sold millions of records, and garnered many, many, many number hits, including the ballad she wrote about crystal meth addiction, "Big Girls Don't Cry."
That's not all, she has managed to remain clean and sober for nearly seven years now. And ladies, she married movie star Josh Dummell and even has a child with him!
But, as alluded to above, from 2001 until 2006, just before Fergie joined the Black Eyed Peas, became a huge solo artist, got Josh to "put a ring on it" and pushed out a baby of her own, Fergie was a hardcore crystal meth addict.
Had the singing diva not done so, all the promises she so clearly has acquired would not have been possible!
In the words of the illustrious, not to mention clean and sober, Fergie, and to all of those you out there who are still living in active addiction, "It's time to be a big girl now" (no offense gentlemen, just supplant boy for girl), as in "……………I hope you know, I hope you know that this has nothing to do with you, its personal myself and I, we got some straightening out to do and I"m gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket, but I got to get a move on with my life, it's time to be a big girl now….."
