Funnyman Dax Shepard recently revealed how much he once loved using drugs and drinking alcohol prior to meeting his long-time partner, actress Kristen Bell, who currently stars in House of Lies.

Dax Shepard, received his Hollywood big-break when Ashton Kutcher hired him to work on the MTV series Punk’D. He has since starred in a number of films including, Employee of the Month, When in Rome, and Freebie among others.

Most recently, Shepard wrote the screenplay for a film due out this year, named Hit and Run.

Incidentally, the film stars Shepard’s fiancé Kristen Bell as well Bradley Cooper, of Hang Over and The Words fame. Not only did Shepard direct the film, he also stars in it.

During an interview, due out this month, with Playboy magazine, Shepard divulged how much he once loved Jack Daniels, not to mention cocaine and many other types of drugs.

According to, Shepard turned down nothing when it came to drug-use. He admitted to drinking and using drugs such as cocaine, opiates, marijuana, diet pills, and pain pills, among others.

In fact, during the interview with Playboy magazine, Shepard overtly stated, “…….I loved to get f*** up”.

Shepard informed Playboy, with emphasis, that he was lucky that he never went to jail despite the fact that he consumed so many types of illicit drugs.

Shepard went on to divulge that, once upon a time, his main motivation in life was to use drugs, get high and meet eccentric people.

Today, 37 year old Shepard no longer engages in drug-use. Shepard cites his fiancé, actress Kristen Bell, as his main motivation for no longer using drugs.

He further stated that 32 year old Bell is a good girl, whom he loves. According to him, Bell makes him so happy that he no longer needs to use drugs.
