Billionaire Heiress Found Dead Cocaine And Heroin Suspected

Wealthy American heiress, Eva Rausing, and her husband, Tetra Pak heir, son of one the wealthiest men in the world, Hans Kristian Rausing first met when they both entered the same drug treatment center in California.

Today, Hans Kristian Rausing is currently under arrest, in London, regarding drug charges, following the death of his wife, Eva Rausing. Eva was found dead, last week, in their $109 million London fortress.

During a search of the couple’s home in one of London’s most tony and expensive neighborhoods police discovered Eva’s lifeless body. Police were actually at the couple’s home to arrest the deceased’s husband on drug charges.

According to friends, Eva Rausing had been battling drug addiction for many years. In fact, many believe that the only commonality among the wealthy couple other than the obvious [wealth] was drug addiction. They were considered mismatched from the very start, as she was a lively and glamorous socialite daughter of an Jewish American Pepsi-Cola executive, while he was incredibly private and enigmatic European.

Four years ago, in 2008, the billionaire couple was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and cocaine. Apparently Eva Rausing attempted to smuggle heroin and cocaine into the United States according to a statement by the Embassy in London. After a check of their home turned up more drugs the couple were arrested. However, the couple would later avoid prosecution.

As reported by Forbes Magazine earlier this year in their annual rich list, the couple kept a low profile subsequent to the 2008 arrest, until most recently when Eva was discovered dead and Hans Kristian was arrested not only regarding drug charges but for suspicion of murder of his now deceased wife.

Many acquaintances and associates in both the charitable and social communities state that Eva was very aware that substance abuse prevention was important, as she contributed her own money [at least six figures] toward the cause and helped raise even more money before her untimely death.

Furthermore, although it appears that Eva did relapse friends say she was also aware of how difficult it was to quit and refrain from using drugs.

Eva’s husband, Hans Kristian Rausing, son of Hans Rausing, is worth approximately ten billion dollars. Much of his wealth was obtained from his connection with Tetra Laval founded by his grandfather.

On Wednesday, a police spokesperson informed the media that Hans Kristian Rausing has been receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, although an autopsy has been performed on Eva Rausing it failed to reveal the cause of her death.
