Billie Armstrong Rehab

The 40 year old rocker and front-man of Greenday, Billie Joe Armstrong, entered rehab for substance abuse yesterday, September 23, 2012.

What prompted this abrupt decision to enter substance abuse treatment before the release of GreenDay’s ninth studio album?

On Friday, September 21, 2012, during a music festival that Armstrong was performing at, he suffered from an alcohol or drug-related “meltdown”.

According to MSN.com, during his performance, Armstrong spoke harshly, used many expletives, smashed his guitar, and complained of his time to perform being cut short.
