A 5-year-old boy brought packets of heroin to show-and tell on Monday. According to Connecticut Post, the kindergartener came to school with his stepfather’s jacket. When the boy’s turn came, he opened the jacket and showed off 10 plastic bags, each containing five folds of heroin. The teacher quickly grabbed the bags, and police were notified shortly after.
The child’s stepfather returned to the school and began frantically searching for his stepson. He spotted the jacket in an empty classroom, and ran out of the classroom with the jacket only to find the drugs were gone. Police were waiting for him, and he was arrested for risk of injury to a minor, possession of narcotics, sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school. The 5-year-old was turned over to the custody of state until other family members can be located.
