11 Month Old Baby Ingests Cocaine

FOX TV of Atlanta has reported that an 11 month old baby ingested crack cocaine while in the care of his 34 year old grandmother and her 22 year old boyfriend.

Apparently, when the baby boy was out of the grandmother’s sight, the baby ate fragments of crack cocaine.

Authorities were contacted after the baby’s 17 year old mother brought her 11 month old baby boy to central Georgia’s Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Apparently, hospital employees confirmed that the baby had in fact ingested cocaine and then called the police.

An investigation has since been conducted and warrants have been issued. Not only was the baby’s 17 year old mother arrested, but the 34 year old grandmother and the grandmother’s 22 year old boyfriend were arrested after warrants were issued for their arrest.

All three suspects have been charged with reckless conduct and cruelty to children in the first degree.
