An Arizona man was arrested this week after forcing his children to drink alcohol and then throwing them in the pool to teach them a lesson. According to TusconCitizen.com, police responded to a call from a neighbor reporting screaming and crying.
Upon arrival at the residence, police heard someone crying loudly in the back yard while 32-year-old Kristopher Harvey came out of the house. Harvey appeared intoxicated, as he had trouble standing and speaking clearly. His girlfriend reported to police that his sons, ages 12 and 13, drank some of his alcohol last week, and he was trying to teach them a lesson.
Officers entered the house to find the boys in their underwear, screaming and crying. Both were intoxicated and vomiting. One boy told officers that his father put them in the backyard, forcing them to take shots of liquor. Harvey refused to let them back in the house until they finished the shots. He then began throwing the boys in the pool, just before the neighbor called police when she heard their screams.
The teenagers were visiting their father from California, where they live with their grandmother. The boys were transported to the hospital for treatment, and Child Protective Services were called. Harvey was jailed on suspicion of two counts of child abuse, while his girlfriend received a criminal citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
